CWU Don and Verna Duncan Civic Engagement Center - Civic Engagement Programs

The Civic Engagement Center hosts a series of programs that offer committed service positions:

Central Civic Marketing (C2M)

This student-run agency combines the skills of graphics design, public relations, journalism and communications interns to create marketing materials for non-profit organizations that could otherwise not afford the media services. Students gain hands-on experience in creating advertising materials including press releases, brochures, logos and web sites.

Central to the Community (C2C)

Central to the Community student liaisons organize volunteer positions, internships and activities to support community needs and local non-profit organizations for a $500 tuition waiver. Liaisons recruit students into service that benefits Adult Advancement, Community Health, Community Progress, Environmental Stewardship, Food & Shelter Insecurity, Personal Health and Teen Enrichment.

Americorps Bonners and Students in Service

The Students in Service and the Bonner Leaders Program monetarily rewards students for service and leadership. For every 300 hours of service, students receive an educational award of $1,000 from the Corporation for National Service.
