Description: Summer camp for girls ages 12-14 to explore career and educational opportunites in the fields of aviation, construction management, engineering, and industrial safety.

CWU faculty and student volunteers orchestrate the camp which includes hands on activities such as flying airplanes, operating construction equipment, designing rockets, practicing proper safety practices such as hazardous materials training, fire, and safety.

Service Outcomes

Girls 12-15 will be exposed to high-tech careers in which women are typically under-represented.

Student volunteers will have the chance to interact with girls, professors, and industry specialists in these fields.

Service Reflections

The ACES camp is now in it's fifth year and has benifited both the girls, CWU empoloyees, and industry professionals in creating opportunities to explore career and educational opportunities in chosen fields
