HI! I’m Rikki, and I’m a freshman here at CWU majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences Education! Along with getting my BA in Family and Consumer Sciences, I’ll also be working on acquiring my teaching certificate, and in the summers I’ll be working on obtaining my American Sign Language Certification through South Seattle Community College. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in 7th grade and I also decided to come to Central that same year because of the education program here! Most people thought I was crazy and I would change my mind by the time I graduated, but I stuck with my plan and now I’m here and definitely very excited about it! Other than being an education “nerd” I love just being the everyday college kid and doing what I can to help out!
Right now in the Civic Engagement Center I am the Secondary ST.E.P.S. Liaison! I’m new to the position but it’s been a lot of fun so far and I’m looking forward to continuing on with it for the rest of the year. If you’re looking for an opportunity to work in a high school classroom I’m the girl to come to, I can get you set up!
My office hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2-5pm, and then Monday from 2-4, I also Table down in the SURC from noon-1 every Wednesday!
