My name is Louise Langan, and I am a sophomore majoring in Political Science with a minor in Economics. I joined the Civic Engagement Center this quarter, and I am currently working as the Adult Advancement Liaison. As the Adult Advancement Liaison, I will be working as a middle man between seniors in the Ellensburg Community and students who are interested in develop relationships with seniors in the community. My goal is to strengthen the connection and interactions between our student community and our senior citizens. Through this I hope that our volunteers, my peers, myself and the senior citizens we will work with can appreciate the knowledge and advice we can provide for each other. As a liaison, I coordinate events and recruit volunteers to help meet the needs of local service organizations. Currently I work with Ellensburg Adult Activity Center, Dry Creek Assisted Living, Meaningful Connections, RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program), and Hearthstone Cottage.
